Romeo and Juliet

In 1984 I was asked to compose the music for Kenneth Branagh’s production of Romeo and Juliet  at the Lyric, Hammersmith in which he co-starred with Samantha Bond. Below are a couple of extracts – a Waltz from the party scene and the musical interlude that linked Juliet’s drinking of the draft prepared for her by the Friar and the discovery next morning, of her seemingly dead body, by the Nurse.

Flute: Carol Brown
Oboe: Anthony Robson
Cello: David Burrows

Venue: Lyric Hammersmith
Date: 1984
Producer: Renaissance Theatre
